Things Of True Worth
There’s gold and silver in the land,
And some run after these;
They toil and tire, in mud and sand,
To make their hoards increase.
They boast about the things they’ve done,
And how they made the deal;
They’ll show that they’re the smarter one,
In oft repeated spiel.
I hope your heart stays clean and true –
Don’t buy into their lies;
This God we serve, we cannot woo,
With dollars in our eyes.
The great and fancy things of earth,
Are soon to pass away;
“A quiet spirit’s of greater worth,”
The Word of God does say.
