The Father's Heart
The Father’s heart, is only good,
Each moment, and each day;
It gives, just as the Savior would,
And doesn’t make you pay.
It looks ahead, and plans for you,
And helps elude death’s grip;
It teaches you to be and do,
The things that God has writ.
And if you fail, like I’ve oft done,
And sinfully displease,
The Father’s heart absorbs the pain;
His goodness does not cease.
Press on my friend, and may you be,
A father, like our own;
And in your light may others see,
The beauty that He’s shown.
