 Youth And Beauty
"Are youth and beauty God’s best gifts?"
I asked myself one day,
For I have felt their powerful grip,
Allure me every day.

They seem to have a constant charm,
Not easily brushed aside;
They turn a mind away from calm –
Make it unsatisfied.

I pondered on that sunny day,
As noon gave way to dusk,
While youth and beauty walked away,
Leaving unquenched thirst.

And then I saw, they never last,
More than a mere span,
For soon they are a thing of past,
A fleeting joy for man.

And thus I deemed them fickle things,
Unworthy of their fame,
For age, in time, its wisdom brings,
Putting them to shame.
