Humility
So little is the power of man,
So high his every thought;
In vain he plans as best he can,
Accomplishing but naught!
He knows not where his limits are,
Nor his depth in sin;
His pride outstrips the furthest star
And hurts him deep within.
But mystery of all mysteries this,
Confounding thought so true:
The humbler that the vessel is,
The greater God can do.
O that we folks could humble be,
Accepting lowly state;
For then the power of God we see,
Through us out-flowing great!
