Malachi Final Comments

Observe that throughout the book God points out things to the Israelites saying, “You have been …” and the reply, “How have we been …”. Their senses were so dulled that they were displeasing God and they didn’t even know it! They thought that everything was okay with them!

It is the same in the church today. Like the church in Sardis, many churches have a name that they are alive but they are dead (Rev 3:1). And just as Christ had to send His message to the church of Sardis through the apostle and prophet John in the same way He sends messages to churches today through His prophets. We would do well to listen to the prophets of God.
